Out With the Old and in With the New!

I am a person that does not like change. I hate change with a passion. There have been so many changes in my life that I could have lived without. Though there are some changes that I needed in my life and of course I have faced them and loved them. The only thing that is for sure in life is change.
Well at the first of this year I was talking with Justin about New Year's Resolutions and how most of the time I make them but then never follow through with them. So I told him that this year I want to set resolutions that I can and will keep. Justin brought up a good point that I don't always have to do the usually resolutions like everyone else sets but never keep. He said what about change something about you that you have not changed. I took that to heart and really started to think about what I wanted to change in my life. So I decided that I need to go to the gym and actually workout. Good news for me the city where we moved to has a recreation center that has a gym in it and it is cheap to go. So ever since the first of the year I have gone to the gym at least three times a week. I feel so much better about myself.
Another thing that I decided about a week and a half ago was to cut my hair. I know that is a scary thing. I have never cut my hair. This is as long as my hair has ever grown...
So on a whim I started looking at pictures of different hair styles. I actually found a hairstyle I liked. So I  set an appointment, the sad thing is that the day before I got my hair cut I finally found a new way to do it that I loved. I was so bummed out and started having second thoughts. But I went the next day and told her what I wanted. Here is the new and improved Stephanie...
So there it is. I did it. I made a change in my life. I cannot believe that it actually happened. I also cannot believe how much hair I had. The next challenge is to figure out how to style it on my own. Wish me luck!

The Absolute Love of My Life!

I know that I am a couple of days late for the whole Valentine's Day post, but I feel that it is better late than never.
I cannot deny it any more. I have the most amazing, selfless, gracious, lovable, intelligent, hard working, crazy, funny, handsome, sweet, caring...(would you like me to stop now?) husband in the whole world. I am absolutely in love with this man of mine. I cannot believe that he is mine for eternity.
This year since Justin is taking classes to become a lawyer money was not quite expendable as it usually has been for us. So this year we decided not really spend money on celebrating the day of Love. So there would be no gifts, we even talked about not going out to dinner. Though with an after thought Justin said that we better go to dinner so that I did not have to cook. I was totally in love with that idea. Let me just tell you my husband is the biggest liar in the world. Even though we explicitly talked about how we would not spend any money on gifts what did I wake up to. Well it was this...
the most beautiful red roses I have ever seen. Well so much for our promise. I think that I will forgive him for that one. He did not need to spend that money on me but it did make my day.
I do have to say I would like to advocate making Valentine's Day always fall on a Saturday. This Valentine's Day was the best one that I have ever had. We just relaxed all day and were able to spend a lot of quality time together. Since Justin has been in school the time that we spend together is not what I would like it to be. But I will sacrifice our time together since he is doing what he wants and is making it so that one day I can stay at home with our kids.
Oh and by the way even if you think that you are going to dinner early on Valentine's Day the rest of the town will choose to go to dinner at the same place you do and at the same time. We went to Goodwood for dinner and got there at 4:20 and we still had a 45 minute wait. That was crazy!
Thank you Lover Boy for making this Valentine's Day the best ever! I am looking forward to many more with you!

Double Shot Weekend

So what is one to do when their parents go out of town and they have a hot tub and a sweet set up of Double Shot basketball. Well you invite your friends over and have a great time. That is just the predicament that Justin was placed in this weekend. His parents are in Hawaii and of course Justin needed to go up to their house to make sure everything was ok. He also let some of his friends know that his parents had a hot tub and were conveniently out of town. So we made it a night.
Now for those of you who do not know my husband he loves basketball and would play it all day if he could. The great thing is his parents have a great thing called Double Shot basketball, something that they have had since Justin was 14. Justin has grown up with this and has a routine that he goes through in order to get the best shot. I of course forgot my camera but luckily my trusted friend keeps her camera in her purse. So as soon as I get the pictures I will post them. It is well worth the sight.
Now some might think that double shot is just for the boys. Oh you are mistaken. Me the most un-athletic person in the world took a chance and played against her husband. Man did I rock. Good thing we got in the hot tub after because I was spent :)
Thanks to great friends for a great weekend.
