Our Beautiful Home

I am finally getting around to posting pictures of our fabulous home. I know, I know some might be wondering why I have taken so long to post pictures since we have lived in this house since last May. Well I really don't know why I haven't but here we go on the story about our house and the pictures.
When we first got married we moved into a duplex on 1st street right above Wansgards. We loved it there. We spent our first year an half there, and we would not change it for the world. Our neighbors that shared the other side with us were amazing. They had gotten married two months before we did and we all just hit it off. It was so much fun being next to them and alway over at each other's places. We will forever and alway have a close friendship with the Broomes (and it might be because our bedrooms shared a wall).
Well we had always thought about buying a house especially since the market went way down and we knew we could get some great deals.  Then Brooomes decided to moved out in April and a another couple move in their place. It just wasn't the same not having the Broomes next to us. We then started looking seriously for a home. At this time we had gotten the coveted acceptance letter to University of Utah Law and our minds were set on finding a house. You might think why did we buy then, the answer is we have no idea it just felt right.
We walked through some houses and then put an offer down on one then lost it :( Then one day we stumbled across our home on a whim and found the guy needing to sell this house or sell the new house he just built. He opted for the sale of his old house, lucky for us.
I feel that we were for sure meant to be here and find our house when we did. For me I moved back to my roots. You see the city we live in is the city that my dad grew up in. Our house is right close to my grandmother's home. In fact where our house is located used to be a farm that my dad would visit. I love it because even though my father has been gone for 17 years people still know him and love him. I loved it when I was introduced to the ward and people asked me if I was Jerry's daughter, many times it brought me to tears but it is fun to hear stories about him.
So here is our house.
It is definitely not a starter home. It is a home that we might possible for sure live in the rest of our lives. We have five bedrooms finished, three finished bathrooms, and half a basement to still be finished, front room, kitchen, two family rooms, and a laundry room. Cleaning and organizing keeps me busy. Good thing I have something that I love to do while Justin is at school. That is lot a house for two people you probably say. Well we do want a family one day so this will be a wonderful place to raise them in.
These are just a few pictures of our home.
We are seriously blessed! We cannot go one day without counting our blessings.

Slacker blogger, that would be me!

So I am a complete slacker in the blogging world. The reason may be that I have nothing to blog about and possibly because I have not had the internet for almost a week.  Take your pick on excuses. With the internet excuse ya, all it took was calling the Qwest customer service for them to say unplug your modem and then plug it in again. Duh why did I not think of that sooner. Why couldn't solving every problem be that easy?
So tonight turned out to be the perfect night to finally get back on the internet because of one rude husband. For once in Justin's Law School career he came home around 7:00. Happy times right? I finally get to see my husband and maybe have a conversation with him that does not just consist of, "Hi! I love you. Good night." No he comes home early to go play basketball with the Elders Quorum!!!!! How rude can one Law School boy get? I thought that I hated basketball before but now I loath it. The one night he comes home early he just ends up leaving me again. Oh ya, an now he won't come home until 10:30 tonight. Seriously Law School sucks and tonight so does the Elder's Quorum basketball team. :)

The Wait is Finally Over

I am so excited that 24 is finally back on the air waves. It has been way to long since we have had Jack Bauer in our house, he has been sorely missed (more by Justin than myself). Now Justin and I are not really TV show watchers it has never really been our thing. So when season six started back in 2007 my brother Steven said that we should start watching it. The only hard thing was we really did not know what was going on. So after we watch season six we went back and watched all of the other seasons. Because of this addiction we also got addicted to Netflix, if you are going to watch seasons of TV shows and don't want to buy them all this Netflix is definitely the way to go. So thanks to Steven we are now officially 24 addicts. Good thing for us there is a 4 hour special over 2 nights. Oh we are now also thankful for DVR. I love the fact that one I can watch it at any time and two that I don't have to watch all the commercials. I could never live without it.

Christmas 2008

It is so sad to realize that the Holiday season is over. It came so stickin' fast this year. This is my favorite time of year and I would love just to sit back and enjoy it without a worry. That though is never the case. But with that said let me tell you about our Christmas.
This was our 3rd Christmas together as a married couple (man time really flies). This also was our first Christmas in our new beautiful home. It turned out to be a wonderful day (minus the whole snow part, good thing we live so close to our families.) Since Christmas is my favorite time of year I completely take advantage of seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child. I definitely act like a child when it is Christmas time. I would love to wake up at 4:00 am to open presents but, Justin does not like that idea so we compromise and woke up to open presents at 6:00 am. I completely spoiled Justin this year. Well, I guess the big present that he got was very expensive but it worth it. Justin got Mario Cart for the Wii, the two Batman movies, a new basketball, and a basketball hoop to put outside. I too was very spoiled I got a pink digital camera, a black and white coat, a puffy vest, jeans, sweater, and a beautiful picture of the Salt Lake Temple. It was great.
After we opened our presents to each other we went to Justin's family and opened presents from them. Justin got some much needed clothes and I got a fabulous new vacuum. Now it is not just any vacuum it is a Dyson. I know you think that a vacuum is crazy but I have always wanted one of these after I had my mom's for a week. This vacuum is the suckiest thing ever.
When we finished opening presents at the Berube's we went on over to my mom's house. I absolutely love that our parents only live 5 minutes away from each other. It makes holidays so much fun. We got some much needed food storage items. I love that my mom does this for Christmas it is one thing that you need but you never seem to buy yourself. We also finally got another remote for the Wii from my oldest brother and sis in-law, now we don't have to borrow any from my brothers. For me what makes it Christmas is seeing all of our nieces and nephews open gifts and telling us all about their Christmas. I feel bad because I did not take any pictures at our parents houses. Good thing I come from a camera happy family and we can steal their pictures.
All in all it was a great day. I would not change the way that we do Christmas for the world. It is nice because we can still keep both of our traditions and still make our own at the same time.
