Christmas Tag

I thought that this was a great idea and borrowed it from Bree's blog. Here is my take on Christmas....

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
I am totally a wrapping paper girl. The thing is I have to wrap all of the presents in the same wrapping paper, I even send a roll or two up to Santa so that he can wrap his presents in the same paper. Also this paper and ribbons has to match my tree.
2. Real tree or artificial?
Artificial tree all the way. I just love having the tree up so much that  I could not stand having it die on me.
3. When do you put up the tree?
The day after Thanksgiving, it is tradition.
4. When do you take the tree down?
New years day. I want to enjoy Christmas as long as possible.
5. Do you like eggnog?
Sort of, I will drink it only if I have black cherry Shasta to put in with it. Drinking it straight is out of the question.
6. Favorite gift received as a child?
I think that it would have to be a certain gift that I got each year. Every year I would get a new doll. I always looked forward to Christmas day because I knew that a doll would be waiting for me. Also every year my grandma Hales would always make us nightgowns and my mom was so sly and would find out what doll Santa was getting us and make sure that grandma would make a nightgown to fit our dolls. Parents can be so tricky.
7. Do you have a nativity scene?
Now that is a fun question for me I have 10 different nativities. For me that is the whole reason for the season so I cannot get enough of them.
8. Hardest person to buy for?
Justin, he never gives me any ideas so I never know what he would like. But he is a sweet husband and whatever I buy him he LOVES.
9. Easiest person to buy for?
That would have to be my mom, sister, and mother in-law. Hello they are girls so I know what they would like.
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
I cannot think of anything.
11. Email or Christmas cards?
Right now I don't do any, but I think that I would do Christmas cards.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
My favorite would have to be Elf. I just cannot get enough of that show.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Right after Thanksgiving.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
No.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
My mom's Christmas breakfast casserole and homemade cinnamon rolls. I cannot wait till tomorrow. I only get this once a year so I definitely look forward to it.
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?
Clear lights
17. Favorite Christmas song?
I could sit and listen to Christmas songs all the time (well at least after Thanksgiving dinner). So I love all of them.
18. Travel for Christmas or stay at home?
Travel close to home since we live so close to family how could we not.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers?
For sure, hello I am a 1st grade teacher. My students sing this song everyday.
20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
A star all the way.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
PJ's on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
People are so crazy and do not take the time to enjoy the season.
23. Best Christmas gift ever received as an adult?
My i-pod last year. I love that thing.
24. What I love most about Christmas?
Being with family and friends all month long.
25. Family Traditions from year to year?
Christmas eve with Justin's fam. Christmas morning with my fam.
26. Did you ever go caroling?
Not as much as I would like to.
27. Oh Christmas Tree! Who has the best tree?
I have to be bias and say mine of course.
28. Fat, Skinny, Tall, Plump Tree?
Fat, full trees.
29. Have you ice-skated?
Only when I was young. The ice scares me.
30. When do you unwrap your gifts?
Christmas day at about 6:00 am. I would love to open earlier but Justin won't get up that early.

Let Christmas Begin

Since Justin finally finished his last final yesterday we are finally ready to begin our Christmas celebrations. It was all kicked off with the Berube-Petersen Christmas party.
Here is Ryan and my sister and sister in-laws.
This tradition all started last year when I decided that it would be fun idea to get both mine and Justin's families together and celebrate the wonderful season. Last years' party was quite interesting. Since we had never done anything like this before everyone was a little suspicious that we had something important that we wanted to tell them, because why else would we get both of our families together? We could tell that they were all thinking that some big news was going to be said so we played it up a little bit. When we were welcoming everyone to our house Justin just keep on rubbing my stomach. The faces of our families was priceless. But then we told them that we were not pregnant and that we just were excited that everyone could enjoy the Christmas season together.
My sister mom and me!
Justin and his mom.
This year there was again no big news to tell both of our families about the prospects of having another grandchild :( None the less we had a wonderful time just being with one another. Though our niece Brylie did not have such a great night. She threw up all over herself and her daddy and our floor. Boy I never really knew how little kids could really launch it out. We all felt so bad. Needless to say they were not able to stay the whole night.
Some of our cute nieces.
It is so nice to finally start felling the Christmas spirit in our house, instead of worrying about the next final. The Berube household is happy once again :)

Now I am Finished

It is official I am done Christmas shopping. The last present that I bought was delivered today. Now the fun of wrapping begins. I am a little crazy when it comes to wrapping my presents are all wrapped in the same wrapping paper. But it is not just any wrapping paper it is paper that matches my tree and the bows also have to match. This is my favorite part of Christmas, minus opening the presents on Christmas day.
So here is what my tree looks like right now, but give me a day and there will actually be something underneath it.

Almost Done...Not at All

This is what my tree looked like two years at this time.
Christmas is almost here!!! Happy day!!! I love Christmas so much. All day today my students had to keep on reminding me that Christmas is only 10 more days away. Hey, at least my kids know their math skills right?
Well as the title says I am almost done with my Christmas shopping. Or I really should say that I am officially done with Justin's Christmas as a of two minutes ago. Thank you internet. This year I really don't know what I would have done without it for my sweet hubby. The sad news is I still have my mom, sister, in-laws, brother in-laws, brother and sis in-law, coworkers, friends. Wait a second I guess I am really behind and in fact not really ready at all. Dang why does Christmas have to come so fast?
This year has been a hard year compared to most.  I have been used to working just 3 to 4 ten hour days and having the other full days off. This year I am working 8 to 4 or 6. Huge change for me, and my shopping habits (Justin loves that last part). So now I am the one who has to do all of the last minute shopping. I never have been that person. Help. What should I do? I guess my only choice is to brave the mall and gather all of the presents that I need. If I survive I will for sure let you know. The countdown is on. So bring it!!!!

Our Monday Night

I just have to say that one of my most favorite Christmas movies has to be Elf. I don't know if Christmas could get any funnier than with Will Ferrell playing an Elf. This is one of my fam's favorite also. This year my niece called us up and invited us over to watch Elf for family home evening since they just got it on Blue Ray.
Well sad to say Justin did not come along because he had a final this morning that was four hours long. Can you say ridiculous. So he wanted to sleep.  I felt so bad and even told my family that I would not be able to come because I wanted to be with Justin. Well the wonderful husband that he is told me that there was no reason that I should not go and enjoy some Christmas time with the fam. So I left him home to veg out.
My nieces and nephews think that Elf is the greatest show on earth and can quote the entire movie. They don't wait until Christmas time to watch this movie, if it were up to them they would watch it everyday and still laugh hysterically at the same scenes as they always do. We had to restrain them this time so that we could all try and enjoy the show. All I can say is that this one is a classic and is one that I will never get bored of.
So when I go home tonight I found Justin on the couch playing his one of his old school Inintendo games on the Wii. What more is there to life right now than sleeping, studying, some more studying, and maybe a game or two on the Wii? Have got to love the blood shot eyes. Only four more days until his last final. Sad news is this final is going to be 9 hours long. Good luck Lover Boy. All that I can do for him right now is pray and make sure that he has a lot of food to eat.

The Lights at Temple Square

This weekend we were able to spend some time with my sister and brother in-law since they were up for Thanksgiving. Sad to say my sister and myself don't both go to my mom's on the same year, but they still make time to come see us when it is not my mom's year to have them.
We wanted to do something fun so we decided to go and see the lights at Temple Square on Friday night. Only part of my family could go, but it was still fun even though we missed the others. I always love going down to see the lights it just seems to bring the Christmas spirt out of me. Of course it was really crowded because it was the night that they turned on.
We decided that instead of parking close to the Temple, since we really couldn't since there was also a Jazz game that night, we would park by the Frontrunner station and then take the Trax up to the lights.
My nieces and nephew loved the fact that we were going to ride on a train.

You have got to love the great picture of me. I just had to include it though so that you would know that I was actually there.

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was a great one. We spend this year at my mom's house. Sad to say that this was the last Thanksgiving that we will have in our old family house. My mom will soon be moving into her new one. Happy Day. It was nice though to have one more Holiday spent in the only house that I have known my who life.

Part of the family
More of the Family
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it is one day where it is ok to eat and eat and eat. It is also a great time to be surrounded by family and just enjoy one another. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is my mother's orange rolls, carrots and bean casserole, and lots of potatoes and gravy. This year Justin again was able to keep the gravy by his side the whole entire dinner, without anyone noticing that we were one gravy bowl short.

Dinner would not be complete without the olives on the fingers.

So after the dinner is devoured the adults all help out to the the dishes cleaned up, but mainly we talk.

And the kids just get to play around. Man I wish I was a kid again.
That was not all of the fun that we had for Thanksgiving. Every Thanksgiving night Justin's grandma Handcock rents out some lanes at Ben Lomand Lanes so that we can get our bowling on. Every year it is big competition between the Berube boys and girls. Sad to say this year I did not do so hot, while on the other end my mother in-law kicked some butt. Competition is the blood in this family.
Then it is back to my mom's house for some games where my aunts, uncles, and cousins come over. Now this for me is Thanksgiving. We play the candy bar game and our own version of Bunko. This year there was some major competition, even some crying. That means that we played some great games. It isn't fun until someone cries.  We have been doing this for as long as I can remember. So for me I cannot have Thanksgiving without the games.
It is so nice that we can attend both of our families Thanksgiving tradition and spend time with everyone.

It all started four years ago today...

Well four years ago today was they day that Justin and I went on our first date. Let me back up and tell you the whole story of us going on our first date.
It was the day before Thanksgiving in 2004 this is the day where all of the baked goods are made for Thanksgiving in my house. So we had rolls in the oven and pies getting made. I was just mixing my famous pumpkin pie when the phone rang and it was my work on the phone. Angela was calling to see if there was any way that I could come in for her because she had sick kids. So I said for sure. Not to long after I had arrived at work a kid from my Institute class came in. It was no other than Justin's brother Ryan and of course Justin was with him. Well I knew Ryan of course but I only knew of Justin because he is my sister's age. They came in to make a dispute on Ryan's visa and that was basically it. The day went on and got really busy right up to the moment that we closed.
In between time a certain someone came back to the credit union and it just so happened that when this certain someone came back I was the next teller available, good for him. Here is how the transaction went...
Justin: "Could you put these checks into my mom's account."
Stephanie: "Sure, is there anything else that I can do for you?"
Justin:  "Could you pull up my account and take $40.00 out. Do you think that would be enough?"
Stephanie: "Enough for what?"
Justin: "Enough to hopefully take you out this weekend?"
Stephanie: "It depends on what you are going to do with me?"
I of course said yes I would love to go out with you. He then proceeded to write his number down on a piece of paper and I did the same. His hand was shaking the whole time he was writing.
Well Thanksgiving came and I was sick. So sick that I enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner twice (not in a good way). So I was thinking that I would not be able to go out on Friday. Well Friday came and I was feeling ok. Justin called me two times that day once to tell me the time, the other to tell me that their plans had changed and that we were going to attend a close family friend's wedding reception with his parents. Great. What I fun first date. It turned out to be great.
We went down to Salt Lake for the reception at this country club and of course everyone assumed that we were dating, awkward. After the reception we went to see the lights on temple square.
I had told Justin that I was not able to even eat the pie that I had made because I was so sick. He took it upon himself to make sure that I had some pie. So we walked over to JB's, where everyone goes after seeing the lights to warm up, and he proceeded to order every piece of pie that was on the menu which ended up to be five pieces. It was really sweet of him.
This was one of the best first dates that I have had. Since we went down to SLC we had plenty of time to talk. It was great getting to know him. Now this is not to say that everything went quick in our relationship but that story will be for another day.
So I would like to say thank you to Angela for calling me in that day. Thanks to you I was able to get my first date with my husband.

THE MOVIE

I just got back from seeing THE MOVIE. Come on all of you out there know what movie I am talking about without even mentioning the name. But I just cannot stop myself from saying what the movie is. TWILIGHT was a great, wonderful, stupendous movie that I would for sure see again. For that fact this a movie that will definitely be purchased to put with my wonderful collection of chick flicks. There is just something about this movie that makes me want more. I cannot wait until they release the next movie. This is one series that needs to have all of the books into movies. Once they start they just will not be able to stop.

My Idea of Relaxing After Work

Many of you will think that I am totally crazy and insane, to say the least, after getting done with reading this post (and some of you might already think that :)). Well as the title says today my idea of relaxing after work was cleaning the house. I know I must be crazy. But for some reason whenever I clean the house I get this overwhelming sense of accomplishment. I felt that since Justin would not be coming home until 10:30 or later I needed to something with my time, so why not clean.
Now everyone's idea of cleaning is probably different from person to person. Well my idea of cleaning is when I get down on my hands and knees to clean the floor, actually having to step inside of my bathtub in order to get it all the way clean, scouring down the shower (if anyone has any ideas of cleaning a stand alone shower, and a jetted tub without having to change to my bathing suit because I get soooo wet please let me know), getting out q-tips to clean the hard to get places (this is one part of my cleaning routine that Justin always has to laugh about. He knows I mean business when I get out the q-tips along with the cleaning supplies), emptying out the refrigerator, changing the sheets, putting up fresh towel, and having a whole load of dirty cleaning towels to throw into the washer. The last item especially makes me know that I have cleaned. Getting to fold a whole load of towels and rags is so rewarding for me.
Having a clean house gives me a huge sense of relief knowing that everything is clean and presentable. Growing up my mom always taught me that a clean house is very important. I have taken that to heart and maybe to an extreme. Well to each their own right?
Now this is not to say that my house does not get dirty, because it does. That is when I know that cleaning day is just around the corner.  Until the next cleaning day....

Now I know where I belong...

Do you ever wonder if you could have lived in another era? I really have. I love watching all of the old Nick at Night shows. None of this new Nick at Night that has all of the shows I grew up in like Home Improvement (ya, that is on Nick at Night). I mean the shows that are still in black and white. Why can't life go back to the I Love Lucy times, or Leave it to Beaver when the mom does cleaning in her pearls? I mean who would not want life to be that laid back and not rushed. I know for a fact that I would love it and guess what that is where I belong.
You Belong in 1954
You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

Happy Late Halloween

Halloween was a great time this year. Every year on the monday before Halloween my mom has a dinner called the ORANGE DINNER. Well if you don't get it from the name everything that we eat is orange.

My mom makes this great dinner inside of a pumpkin, there are shredded carrots, and the most important part of the dinner is the surprise jello.

Nowsurprise jello is, you guessed it orange, where my mom makes the jello and then she puts inside of it some vampire teeth, spider rings, or even some bugs. This is always the highlight of  the dinner to find out what was inside of the jello.
We have been doing this dinner for as long as I can remember. So for me this is Halloween. So as the years have gone on it is fun to see the excitement in our nieces and nephews faces when they get to see each other in their costumes and enjoy some great food.
This is also the night when the grandkids dress up in their costumes so we can see what they are going to be. It is crazy to see how the grandkids have grown up over the years. My oldest nieces are going to be turning 12 this next year. I cannot believe it. What is crazy is that I was twelve when they were born. So to me they are more like sisters than nieces.  I love all of our nieces an nephews and we love spending time with them. It is hard because lately Justin has not had the time to spend with family that he usually has. But he is working hard so that very soon we can start our own family.

Photo Tag

So here goes my photo tag. This is the sixth picture from my sixth folder (or in Mac terms Event folder) on my computer. This picture was taken on May 6, 2006, which also happens to be my birthday. Justin woke me up early that day so that he could bring me breakfast in bed. Hence the sexy glasses that you see on me.
He wanted to make sure that he was the first thing that I saw on my birthday. We had just gotten engaged about a week before this event, so I was still completely on cloud nine. I was so proud of Justin on this day because first he woke up early in the morning which hardly ever happens. Second he made me breakfast all by himself (and boy was it a perfect omelet). Third he did not run out of my room when he saw me in bed without being ready for the day. And last but not least he wanted to make sure that he made my 21st birthday a wonderful day. How could it not be wonderful when I started the day by seeing the love of my life. That day made me look forward to waking up next to him everyday for the rest of our lives.
So that is a picture tag! Now it is your turn to look at the six folder and find the six picture on your computer. I tag my sis, Stephanie H., Amber, Angela, Ally, and anyone else who would like to attempt this tag.

"What is that crazy guy doing?"

"What is that crazy guy doing up on his roof putting up Christmas lights? Doesn't he know that it is not even Halloween yet?" That is what our little seven year old neighbor said to his sister as he saw Justin up on the roof yesterday really putting up the bulk of the Christmas lights.
Now I know what you must be thinking. It is only the middle of October. Justin and myself loath walking into the stores and seeing Christmas stuff up before Thanksgiving. Now there is stuff up before Halloween! What is the world coming to. Can't we just enjoy each holiday? This year I am making an exception to this thinking. Yesterday was the only day when Justin had some time to put up the bulk of the lights. From here on out he will not have a break from school or studying everyday until the 20th of December. So it was either start yesterday or not have lights this year.
This is the first year in our new house and it is very different from the duplex that we lived in before. So Justin really did have to get up on the roof and climb all over putting up the lights. I was scared to death for him. So many thoughts were going through my mind about different situations that many people I know have been in when they have gotten on the roof. I just prayed that he would be alright. Thank goodness he was and now we only have a little bit more to do. He would have finished it yesterday but we ran out of lights and did not want to pay through the nose for more this time of year.
Having the lights up makes me start getting excited for Christmas. But first I need to throughly enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving.
(I can already taste the orange rolls, homemade pies, turkey, stuffing. I need to stop thinking about that. The time now is for Halloween!)
Here is a picture of my hard working husband. Thanks so much for starting to put the lights up!

Goodbye Fall Break :(

So today marks the end of fall break. How sad is that? This was the quickest four day weekend that I think I have ever had. Justin informed me that he wishes that he could have another week like this where he could just study all week. Man that must mean that he really has a lot of work ahead of him. I feel so sorry for him. I wish that there was something that I could do to help him get through this. Well I guess I will just have to be a good wife and do all the wifey things that he needs.

Super Fun Weekend

The Law School Gang
(Minus Brian and Alissa :( We missed you guys.)

This past weekend was one that I have been looking forward to for a long time. We had the opportunity to have all of Justin's Law friends and wives come over for a fun night of getting to know one another better.

Or should I say the girls getting to know one another while the boys played Mario Cart for about three hours.

Super concentration on the part of our hubbies. I wonder if this is how they look when they are studying?

Here are the girls (No I am not prego. That was the first thing I thought when I saw this picture.)

Here are our wonderful hard working, may I add good looking Law Boys. We are all so proud of you guys and the hard work that you are doing. Good luck this week with "Fall Break", or should I say "Super Crazy Study Week."

Now our Law posse is really into The Office, which apparently all the world is except for Justin and myself. So they felt that it was their moral responsibility to finally introduce us into the world of The Office. So they brought the first season so that we could all enjoy it together, even though all of them had seen it about twenty million times. To tell you the truth I really enjoyed it and I think I can say the same thing for Justin because he was busting up laughing the whole time.

Now Justin and myself are not really into any shows except 24 (which it has been way to long since it has been on and I cannot wait until November when it is finally on again). Our TV watching consists of the news, more news on a different station, even more news yet on another station, and then some watching of TLC. So to bring on a sitcom is refreshing. I think I will give it a try on Thursday, good thing we have DVR so I can skip through the commercials.

(April I took the pictures off of your blog. Thanks for posting such a cute post and putting pictures on there. :)

Happy Anniversary

Today Justin and I celebrate our 2nd anniversary. I cannot believe that it has already been two years. Time just flies when you are with the one that you love. This is going to be a long post but I wanted to document the best day in my life.
Let me take you back to October 5, 2006. The day started out early for me of course.  We had to be to the Salt Lake Temple by 9:00 so two of my great friends came over to my house at the crack of dawn to help me get ready. Erin did my hair while Niki worked on my makeup. At that time I was not really nervous. I just loved the fact that  I did not have to get myself ready. At the same time my mom and sister were trying to get ready and trying to help me pack the last few items for the honeymoon.
Finally the time came for me to get in the car with my family and head down to Salt Lake. At this time I still was not nervous. That drive was one of the fastest drives to Salt Lake that I have ever had. I like to be to things on time even early. I remember when I got to the temple Justin was not there yet. I was about ten minutes early but I started getting nervous at this time because Justin was not there yet. I kept on thinking that he set me up. He was not going to come. I just couldn't handle it. My eyes were glued on the door watching for him to walk through it and thinking that he really was not coming. Well it at a couple minutes (maybe just one but it seemed like ten) Justin walked through the doors and I knew that we were meant to be together forever and I could not wait any longer to be his wife.
I was shaking the whole time, I was so nervous. But Justin was just right by my side holding my hand. We of course has to separate to get dressed for our ceremony. I was so excited to get into my dress and finally let Justin see me. My mom and my sister we both there helping me get ready. That was the best thing ever. I could not have gotten through it without them.
Walking out of the dressing room and seeing Justin made me melt. We were able to go to the Celestial room first so that we could spent a couple of minutes together to think about what it was that we were about to do. I wish we could have spent more time in there because I was so at peace. But, we still needed to get married. The walk to the sealing room was long. I still remember when I saw the door of our room I knew that all of the people that I loved would be there. As soon as I looked into the room the tears started to flow. I just could not hold them back. I was so overwhelmed with the love that everyone had for me. I knew as soon as I walked in that my dad was there and so proud of what I was doing. This was one of those days that I missed him very much.
Since I am the youngest of my family this was the first time that all of my family had been together in the temple. What an amazing thing for my parents having all six children get married in the temple.
I really don't remember what the sealer said but, I do remember the feelings that I had. I was so full of love for Justin. I just could not take my eyes off of him. Even through all the tears I still kept him in sight. It is amazing but the whole ceremony only took about a half hour or so. But those are the most precious and important minutes of my life. I was now sealed to the love of my life for eternity. Who could ask for anything more? This was the most important part of the day yet, it was the one part that was the shortest.
We went our separate ways to get ready to have our pictures taken. Little did I know that outside while we were getting sealed the clouds opened up and rain was just pouring hard. I got ready, had a break down and started crying about my hair not looking right. Yet, I still made it out to the place to walk out of the temple before Justin did. There were all of these other grooms waiting but Justin was not found. Going through my mind was he left. We got married and now he has left. One of the temple workers could see the fear in my eyes and went to go find him. I don't know how long it was but finally he came around the corner. At this time it was still raining. We got ready to walk out of the temple and a miracle happened, the rain immediately stopped and the day was beautiful from there on. I do have to say that I had some people up there on my side and wanted to make sure that our wedding day was beautiful. Thanks dad for making that happen for us!
Taking pictures was great and fun. Then it was time to go to our wedding luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial building. The room was beautiful and the food was great. We had the opportunity of telling everyone thank you for supporting us on our day.
After the luncheon was over with we had only a couple of hours till the we had to be back to the reception for more pictures. Finally some time alone. The only thing was it was spent stuck in traffic trying to get back to North Ogden.
We had our reception at my stake center. It was the most beautiful reception that I have ever been to (not that I am bias or anything). Everyone was dressed up. The guys were all in Tuxes (even my little nephews) and all of the girls were in formal dresses. I always dreamed of having a formal wedding and that is what I got.
The reception was to start at 7:00 and end at 9:00. Like that really happened. We did not leave that place until 10:30. People just kept on coming. The line was constantly flowing. Most of the time during the night the line was wrapped all around the cultural hall. Some people told us that they were in line for and hour waiting to greet us. Some even told us that they stood in line for a long while and decided to leave and then come back after awhile. Who does that? That means so much to us that people cared that much to come to our reception.
Many times during the night people told us that all the way up to the reception they saw a huge rainbow and the rainbow ended right at the church. My aunt Nancy was one of the first ones to tell me this and was even getting emotional telling me that she knew it was from my dad. I could not agree more.
The flow of people was still going at 10:00. Finally everyone left and we still had not cut the cake. So we cut it, grab some of the wonderful food that my mom had prepared. Changed out of our wedding clothes and the walked out to see that my car was covered in Oreos, toilet paper, cream puffs, and whip cream. What a mess. The good thing was Justin's car was parked at my mom's house. So we just dropped my car off got into Justin's and finally left. My brother-in-law was sweet enough to get my car washed the next day for us.
It was a wonderful day but it went way to fast. I wish that I could have slowed it down so that I could have enjoyed it even more. The best thing though is that I have the rest of my life to relive that day with my sweet heart.
Justin I love you so much and cannot ever imagine being without you. Everyday that I am with you I grow more in love with you. If these two years are a sign of what is to come I say bring it on, I am ready to spend forever and eternity with you. I love you!!!!

You know you are like your sister...

You know you are just like your sister when you look at her blog everyday just to make sure that you have not missed any new pictures of the kids and you never notice her background. Then you decided that it is time to change your background and you start looking again at your sister's blog. Guess what, out of all the backgrounds that there are out there you seem to have picked the exact one that your sister has.
I used to always laugh at my mom and aunt they seemed to always buy the same stuff. Like one year they both bought new couches. Come to find out they were the same pattern only my mom's was in green and my aunt's was in blue. Well I guess the apple never falls far from the tree!
You got to love all that you share in common with your sis.

I am finally doing a Tag.....

Quirks

The Rules:-Link the Person who Tagged you- Mention rules on your blog- Tell about 6 quirks of yours- Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same- Leave a comment to let them know.
So here it goes. Six Quirks about me.
1. Well first off I am completely a sucker for my husband and cannot stand not seeing or talking to him all day. This whole Law School thing is really making this girl not want her husband to go to school. The joke for Law students is that they has mistresses known as their law books. Boy, do I ever believe that one. It has been hard. Some people might sad so sad for you but oh well that is how I feel. I have decided that I need to create a shirt that says... Wife of a Law Student...I need some attention!
2. Still to this day I need to be tucked into bed before I can get  good nights rest. I have to make sure that I am in bed before Justin just so that he will tuck me in. I know you may think you are a 23 year old girl why should you still be getting tucked in? Well I think it just stems back to childhood. I always remember my dad coming up the stairs every night with his big mug of ice water. I always had to take a drink and him or my mom would have to tuck me in to help me sleep. I really don't think that I will ever get over this quirk.
3. I love having people over at my house just so that I can clean it to make it the way that I always want it to look. The fact is that most of the time I am just to lazy to really clean my house every day. So if I just invite people over I get it cleaned the way that I want it to be. So if you ever want to come over I will be more than willing to let you come so that I can get my house cleaned.
4. Whenever I am sick no matter what it is I cannot go to sleep without my humidifier by my side and a bottle of Vicks. I put the Vicks all over. It is underneath my nose and on my neck/chest. I have to wrap a washcloth around my neck in order for the Vicks to stay on my body and not get on my covers. I don't know what it is about these to very important things but I just cannot seem to sleep when I am sick without them. Some times I even have the humidifier running well after I am better because the sound of it just soothes me. This too is something that stems back to my childhood. It is just such a comfort to me.
5. I am a complete procrastinator. I am just so glad that I am finally out of college, Justin will agree to that one too. I would always procrastinated writing papers and instead of just writing them myself I would call up Justin and ask him if he could "HELP" me write a paper. He sometimes jokes about that he too should have a degree in Elementary Education. I don't know why I do it. I do always get my work done but I guess I just have to wait until the very end for the inspiration to finally come.
6. I could not live outside of Utah. I love the mountains. I could never live without them. The funny thing is though I do not ski and I am not a camper or avid hiker. I just need my mountains. They are almost like a security blanket for me. I feel so safe with them. It for sure makes watching fireworks a whole lot more enjoyable.
So there are some quirks about myself that I hope you enjoy. I tag my sister, Rachel, Rosann, Katie, April, and Alissa

Well I Have Finished My Classroom

Here it is what my new classroom finally looks like. I am so happy that it is complete. With the help from my mom my classroom has now transformed into a room that totally reflects my outlook on school. Bright fun and inviting to my students. I cannot tell you what a relief it is to finally have my classroom decorated and things put away in the place that they need. There are still some things that I need to work on but for the most part it is complete.
To me it is still amazing to think that I am a teacher in my own classroom. Since school has started I still have not had the opportunity to teach a full week. The first week of school was a bomb trying to change from one school to another. The next week we had Labor day, therefore no school. And then this week I had a reading conference that I had to go to all day. Will I ever be able to teach a full week?
Speaking of the reading conference I had to of course prepare for a sub. Hello I am a new teacher  I don't even know what it is that I am doing. How in the world am I going to be able to explain to a sub in detail what it is that they need to do for my class and how to handle them. Hopefully I got a sub that knew what they were doing. I guess I will find out tomorrow how my class did. I threatened my class. I told them if they did really well for the sub then they would get a treat tomorrow. Well we will see they actually get the treat.
These are the joys of being a teacher that I am just discovering.

My Classrooms

I finally have uploaded my pictures of my two classrooms to my blog because I promised that I would show everyone what it looks like. Well what took me a week and a half to put together took me a only a couple of hours on Thursday August 28 to take down. This was the day that I said goodbye to Freedom Elementary and walked into the halls of West Weber Elementary to become a Cowgirl.
I cannot believe that it has been a week since my huge change. To tell you the truth it has really been a great experience. Minus the fact that I have to redecorate a classroom. The thing is most of the stuff that I have bought was meant to fit in Freedom but with the help of my mom and the other teachers we will make it work for West Weber.
So let me show you what my classroom at West Weber looked like when I arrived last Thursday. The first four pictures are of West Weber, all of the crap that you see is my classroom stuff. Basically all that I wanted to do last Thursday was just get my stuff there and see what I had to work with. I do have to give kudos to the substitute for putting the classroom together for the kids to start school, she put a lot of work into it. But since I have bought so much I want to make sure that I put up my own stuff.
The last four pictures is what my first classroom looked like finally after I had put it together. For me that was the hardest part, taking down my room that took me so long to create. Well life goes on. I am now in the process of recreating my classroom. More pictures are on there way. Day by day my class is looking more and more like me.
